The Musicians Rosemary Fraser studied the violin with Nicholas Roth in Bournemouth and then at Trinity College, London. As a student she won several prizes and led the Trinity String Ensemble. She now has a busy teaching practice in Poole and leads the Salisbury Sinfonia as well as the Keysworth Quartet. Elizabeth Ings started learning the violin at school in Norfolk before studying with Maria Lidka for four years at the Royal College of Music. She is now a successful teacher in Dorset and Salisbury. Cathy Stevens was a pupil at the Yehudi Menuhin School. She went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music and as a postgraduate student with Peter Schidlof. She has worked with leading orchestras and contemporary ensembles such as the English Chamber Orchestra, London Sinfonietta and Fires of London, as well as with Keith Tippett and Frank Perry in the field of free improvisation. She also has her own group, the Europa String Choir, in which she plays the violectra (6-string viola). Michael Moorsom was head chorister at Ripon Cathedral and a scholar at Clifton College before taking a music degree and studying cello with Christopher Bunting. After gaining wide experience as a teacher he opened a violin shop in Salisbury, founded the Salisbury Sinfonia and the Salisbury Amateur String Orchestra, and more recently has started a music typesetting and publishing business. |
